Colombo, August 7 (Daily Mirror) - Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara presented in Parliament the Presidents' Entitlements (Repeal) Bill which aims to repeal the Presidents' Entitlements Act, No. 4 of 1986.

The Bill, once enacted, will repeal special privileges granted to former Presidents, their families and retired Members of Parliament.

Good move and remove all that lead to abuse power leaving no room for a future president to go against mandate or constitution, in other words abolish it as promised.

Excellent piece of legislation because our expenses exceed our income by Rs 700 Billion each month. This results in our borrowing every month from domestic markets which contributes to our mounting debt - sins of past 76 years mismanagement of the economy and allowing the war to continue for 30 years without solving problems of people contributed to this pity state of affairs.

Very good news. These parasites must be taught a lesson to live on their own. The pension which is a constitutional issue, pension must not be given to any of the presidents who has not completed the full term, however, no one must be given pension at all. All the past presidents, instead developing the country, ruined and bankrupted, developed only themselves.

Amazing news, wow please expedite it soon. They right royally ransacked the Nation to bankruptcy selfishly filling their own pockets, and left behind the masses who trusted and supported them to repay the sins they committed in the name of developing the Nation, and serving the poor masses. Yes they don't deserve anything.
