Bill Gates accuses Elon Musk of killing poor children

(NDTV) - Microsoft founder Bill Gates accused Elon Musk of killing poor children as he announced that he would give away 99% of his fortune over the next 20 years and that the Gates Foundation would cease operations by 2045.

In an interview with the Financial Times, the billionaire philanthropist addressed Musk's recent cuts to the US Agency for International Development, the agency responsible for distributing foreign aid across the world. He criticised the shuttering of the agency and accused Musk of risking a resurgence of diseases such as measles, HIV and polio.

"The picture of the world's richest man killing the world's poorest children is not a pretty one," Gates told the Financial Times. "I'd love for him to go in and meet the children that have now been infected with HIV because he cut that money," he said of Musk.

Elsewhere in the interview, the 69-year-old announced that he would give up his remaining wealth to his nonprofit foundation over the next two decades.

Separately, in a blog post, the Microsoft founder said that his foundation would be ceasing operations by December 31, 2045.

"People will say a lot of things about me when I die, but I am determined that 'he died rich' will not be one of them," Bill Gates wrote in the blog post. "There are too many urgent problems to solve for me to hold onto resources that could be used to help people. That is why I have decided to give my money back to society much faster than I had originally planned," he added.

BILL GATES is one of the humblest RICH MEN in my opinion, even though I have never got to meet him in person. He is a honest, compassionate humble man with a BIG HEART for the poor, less fortunate, disabled and those living below the poverty line. He operates with a high level of integrity and has ALWAYS thought of millions of those who have not had the opportunities he has had in life, for reasons beyond their control. It is said " if you have a go, you can get a go" but this is NOT the case in millions of those who have had no opportunity to have a go. As for Elon Musk power, greed and wealth has him giving away money to get an AGENDA achieved (like game away millions to get people to vote for trump" or his party (correct me if my assumption is wrong, from what I saw him do during the last USA election campaign.

All these 1% rich vs 99% of poor are boasting about their charity in fear of their short lived life : Life is short for all : you may live to maximum 120 years if you are lucky enough but after 80 the quality of your life goes down and nearing the death makes every one to realise the meaning of life : the same Bill Gates would not have thought like this before 40 years in his life : we all human beings fear death as a result of this eschatological life we want accumulate some good deeds before the death : some people like Lord Buddha wants to give away all worldly possessions: I appreciate the sincerity and good intentions of Bill Gates and he sets some good legacy in this respect:

Gates has got his facts mixed up. I think Netanyahu and IDF hold the current record for this particular activity, closely followed by Saudi Arabia and others. Even SL has done more than Elon Musk in this sphere !
