Batticaloa medical doctor arrested for selling psychoactive drugs to youth



Colombo, June 16 (Daily Mirror) - A medical doctor who was running a dispensary in the Kiran area of Batticaloa was arrested for allegedly selling psychoactive drugs to youths.

The Batticaloa Regional Food and Drugs Inspectors along with Police STF personnel conducted a joint raid in the Kiran area and made the arrest on a tip off. 

The dispensary's MBBS qualified doctor was arrested for issuing PREGAB 150mg to young men without a prescription. 

He was produced before the Valachchenai Courts and the case is proceeding.
