The ban imposed on the inbound passengers from South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Eswatini was lifted with immediate effect, the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) said

They said the notice was issued by the Health Services Director General. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

This is an absolutely ill planned and completely simplistic decision by the political hierarchy. There is bound to be a wave of 'OMICRON' Covid that is going to result in massive restrictions, closing down of establishments and devastating effect on Tourism when it occurs.
