BOI responds to AI-generated video featuring Director General

Colombo, Jan. 22 (Daily Mirror) - The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) has warned the public and stakeholders of a fraudulent, AI-generated video circulating on social media that falsely features its Director General and Chief Executive Officer, Renuka M. Weerakone.

In an official notice, the BOI said the video is part of a scam and includes fabricated statements wrongly attributed to the Director General, stressing that the content does not represent any official communication or position of the authority.
