Attorney General wants Ranil remanded till trial concludes

Colombo, August 26 (Daily Mirror) - In his oral submissions, Additional Solicitor General Dileepa Peeris, appearing for the Attorney General, informed court that former President Ranil Wickremesinghe should be remanded till the conclusion of the trial unless the defense presents exceptional circumstances warranting him to be released on bail.

Fair submission by the State. If exceptional circumstances are shown he doesn't appear to be objecting. So the ball is in the defence court. Friday they were not ready with any medical reports but today I hope they will produce past medical history supported by the ICU Doctors report and very likely Ranil will go home on bail

And we as citizens have got used to believing that all accused are GUILTY unless proven innocent. And we think no end of ourselves as a nation.
