Attempted bank robbery: Party membership of SLPP PS member suspended

The party membership of SLPP Rajangana Pradeshiya Sabha member who was arrested over attempted bank robbery in Thambuththegama, has been suspended, SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said.

He was arrested in connection with the attempted robbery of Rs. 22.3 million near a bank in Thambuttegama.

This is not the first instance he would have committed this crime he should be accountable for most of the motor cycle killings and also robberies in Sales outlets,banks,fuel stations etc.etc. Under two and half years SLPP period his assets should be checked and recovered and given to the respective people

Doesn’t make sense. If a Parliamentarian who was in prison convicted for murder was permitted to attend parliament sittings, why is a mere PS member suspended from membership even before conviction.
