Chamari Athapaththu scored her eighth T20I half-century to help Sri Lanka Women record their first-ever win against England Women in the format, in Chelmsford.
After Sri Lanka Women bowled out England Women for 104 in 18 overs, Athapaththu set the tone for the chase, striking eight boundaries and two six to score 55 off 31 balls, before Harshitha Samarawickrama and Vishmi Gunaratne made unbeaten contributions to take the visiting team to an eight-wicket win.

It is just not a win but breaking the Chelmsford fortress of England

Very good performance in conditions best suited for SL lasses. They are improving, no doubt, but need to tighten up on loose fielding. A couple of missed catches can well result in a score beyond reach. Happy for the fast improving Harshitha and Gunaratne alongside mighty Chamari.

At-least our women's team has the courage, self confidence and are improving continuously, in contrast to the men's team that is on a flip flop ride.

Very good indeed. Why isn't a test match/es played as it is what cricket all about? SLC must look into that possibility, too.
