He was like a 2nd father to me. The one who taught me what Buddhism really is. One who taught me to be a disciplined human being. He was said to be a Boddhistava. In the days of BBS and other extremists, the loss of this kind, extremely compassionate gem is immeasurable.

Most Venerable Maha Nayake thero visted Australia in 2002 and although I was a practitioner in meditation, I got the real understanding of what Lord Buddha taught from Maha Nayake thero. From that time, I have an immense gratitude towards thero because my " shraddha" was developed with my practice.And I remember thero with every blink of an eye! I pay my utmost respect and gratitude. Not only for me but for so many others here, were benefited from Maha thero' teachings. When Maha thero visited Australia in 2006, for the second time, in spite of Maha thero's ill health, preached a lot of dhamma and we were so fortunate to be in the shade of Maha thero! So full of metta around!May this great mountain of dhamma attain Buddhahood and be a guiding light to liberate us from this cycle of Samsara!

Late Venerable was a great teacher who did immense service to Buddhism. When he was preaching bana, he was composed and focused and words came pouring. His memory was unthinkable and by following him we can have rough idea how was our Lord Buddha's memory. Great Loss
