Anti-Corruption Unit OIC, cop caught for accepting bribe

Two policemen including the Anti-Corruption Unit OIC of the Ipalogama Police Station were arrested by the officer of the Bribery Commission for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000.

The OIC, who is a Sub Inspector and a police constable were arrested following a complaint made by a person in Ipalogama.

It was reported that the policemen allegedly demanded bribe from an illicit liquor brewer not to arrest him in future illicit liquor raids.

It was reported that the SI is due to retire from the police service two months later.

Introduce Digital payments for spot fines and all other govt transactions where cash cannot be accepted thereafter to reduce bribing. Both givers and takers are wrong.

Bribing is like air we breathe!! It's happening every day everywhere!! Only a fraction of cases come to the limelight!! The police should be paid handsomely and reward them for their hard work!! Moreover, the Teachers and Nurses Must be paid decent salaries!!! Yeah!!

This kind of situations unavoidable!! Coz Police personal are highly underpaid, so I'd teachers and nurses!! Politicians want to build highways all around the country, then build towers and other unwanted stuff!! And Politicians want same things in western countries in SL!! Just google and see how they,The police, teachers and nurses get paid in western countries!! If you want to build better society, pay these people well and that strategy will payoff handsomely!! Yeah!!
