Another suspected ICE production factory uncovered in Hambantota

Colombo, Sep 15 (Daily Mirror) - Another suspected crystal methamphetamine (ICE) production factory operating from an apartment complex in Hambantota, has been discovered by the Kalutara Crimes Investigations Division.

During the raid, police discovered a range of equipment and chemicals believed to be used in the production of ICE. A vehicle found parked at the location is also suspected to have been used for transporting the drugs.

Police seized 14 cans containing a total of 52 litres of chemicals suspected to be used in the manufacture of crystal meth, along with various other apparatus consistent with illicit drug production.

A 20-year-old suspect, an associate of underworld figure 'Suranga' from Wellawaya was arrested at the scene. The suspect was to be produced before the Panadura Magistrate’s Court today.

Earlier, police discovered similar methamphetamine labs in Nuwara Eliya, Middeniya, Netolipitiya and Kandana following information gathered from the suspects arrested in Indonesia.
