Another monk succumbs to injuries after Melsiripura truck collapse
Colombo, Sept. 28 (Daily Mirror) - Another monk receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Kurunegala Base Hospital has passed away following the tragic collapse of a cable truck at the Na Uyana Aranya Senasana in Melsiripura.
The incident, which claimed the lives of several monks, has now resulted in the death toll rising to eight.
Hospital sources said that despite intensive medical care, the monk succumbed to his injuries yesterday.
Meanwhile, the last rites of five of the seven monks who died in the incident were performed yesterday at the Melsiripura–Pansiyagama Public Cemetery.
