Another illegally assembled jeep found in Ratnapura

Colombo, Jan 29 (Daily Mirror) - Three suspects were arrested along with an illegally assembled Prado-type jeep at Angamman in Ratnapura by the Walana Anti-Vice Squad.

A senior police officer said that the suspects have been produced before court.

The jeep had reportedly been used by a leading politician in the area.

I think all these vehicles were assembled many years ago by a local manufacturer that initially did not have any issue. I think the name was vehicle lanka and location was Miniwangoda. It was same I guess with former Minister Zoyzas vehicle.

There has never been an authorised vehicle assembly plant for luxury vehicles here. Maybe bribery allowed for that named business to happen.

It has become a regularity in Sri Lanka for Politicians to be involved in large scale rackets. Politicians of other countries also are involved in certain irregularities, but in Sri Lanka it has become a regular business for them instead of their duties to the Nation. We are certainly a failed state.
