Another faulty financial transaction hits government

Colombo, May 15 (Daily Mirror)- Ports, Civil Aviation and Energy Minister Aruna Karunathilleke confirmed to the Daily Mirror today that another transaction error had occurred in the payment of 74,000 UAE dirhams to a SriLankan Airlines service provider.

The Minister said that the erroneous transaction had occurred in February this year and investigations are now ongoing.

Treasury and Finance Ministry must stop sending money directly. They have to go through hard copy and give to any of Banks to send money via SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) Senior banker must handle these transactions. Other than swift all other mod of transmissions must be stopped. Best secured computer systems must be built-up for all ministries. digitalization means secured digital systems.
