Another bus accident in Ella, about 30 injured

A bus carrying employees of the Tangalle Municipal Council on an excursion toppled down a 250-metre precipice along the Ella–Wellawaya main road today.

Ella Police said the accident occurred near the 15th kilometer post between Ella and Ravana Ella. More than 30 passengers were injured and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The bus was transporting municipal staff on a trip when it veered off the road and plunged down the slope. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

What a pathetic situation is this one by one we hear news of accident in a speedy rate it must be stopped: all drivers must have some solid training to drive upcountry areas : low land area drivers must have sufficient training to drive upcountry and hilly areas : They don’t have experience in this difficult route that is why this happens like this frequently:
