Aluthgama police investigate into alleged sexual abuse at Child Development Centre

Aluthgama Police are investigating into an alleged sexual abuse incident involving an 8-year-old child at a Child Development Centre in the Pinghena area of Beruwala.

The suspect is a 13-year-old child who is also being held at the centre.

According to police, the victim was at the centre on the orders of the Matugama Magistrate’s Court. On the morning of the 4th, after tea time, the victim went to the toilet on the orders of the suspect child. The suspect is alleged to have followed the child, closed the door, and committed a serious act of sexual abuse.

The victim has been admitted to the Gallassa Maternity and Children’s Hospital in Kalutara for a special examination by the Judicial Medical Officer.

Aluthgama Police OIC, Chief Inspector R.K. Ratnasingham, along with Inspector Nishadhi, OIC of the Children and Women’s Bureau, are conducting further investigations into the incident.

Who is the victim here, 13 year old or the 8 year old??? Whoever it is, they are both extremely young to be victim or accused! Child abuse cases seem to have gone beyond control!!.
