Colombo, August 26 (Daily Mirror) - President's Counsel Anuja Premarathna, appearing for former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, informed court that three out of the four main arteries of his client’s heart are blocked, and that the heart tissues have suffered necrosis along with a lung infection.

A cardiac specialist also presented medical details before court regarding the suspect’s health condition.

Accordingly, it was revealed that the former President has been suffering from diabetes for a considerable period of time, and that the necrosis of the heart tissues together with a lung infection has now been diagnosed.

Counsel Premarathna further told Court, “By mere appearance, one cannot notice that such serious medical conditions exist.”

If Ranil had the medical conditions mentioned by his counsel it is a miracle that he engaged in politics in the past and made many political statements recently. He must be in Hospital. Alternatively if he was unaware of his situation the remand order is a blessing in disguise as his true health condition was diagnosed as a result

If three out of the four main arteries of his client’s heart are blocked, he must have been a superman to do what he did till the arrest and even planned to go to India for a conference on the 26th. He may have died on the flight with low oxygen in the cabin.
