All government employees advised to wear masks

Colombo, June 4 (Daily Mirror) - Heads of all government institutions have been instructed to advise their employees to wear face masks as a precautionary measure against the potential spread of Influenza and COVID-19.

This directive was issued through an official circular by Western Province Deputy Chief Secretary B.N. Damminda Kumara.

“In light of the increasing number of reported cases of Influenza and the continued threat posed by COVID-19, it is essential to adopt preventive measures to safeguard public health,” the circular stated.

That's crazy. Masks are unhealthy as you are breathing in the carbon dioxide you exhale. Anyway good hygiene and cleanliness of the environment is important. People need to stop disgusting habits like spitting all over the place and using handkerchief to blow the nose. And most don't hand wash as often as they should. Also government should make the flu vaccine available as it helps to prevent or reduce the severity of the symptoms. As for covid, it has mutated and in the west they treat it like the normal flu now especially if you have received at least 2 covid vaccines.

General hygiene is a must and wearing a mask by all those who are having health issues is advisable. Avoid touching staircase railing and ensure that all offices, depts, shopping centres and public toilets are kept clean. People do not need any advise in this day and age, after covid spreading around the world cleanliness must be followed al all times.
