Air quality deteriorates to moderate level



Colombo, March 6 (Daily Mirror) - The Vehicular Emission Test Trust Fund of the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) issued a warning regarding the deterioration of air quality to a moderate level.

They have urged individuals, especially those sensitive to air pollution, to seek immediate medical attention if they experience breathing difficulties.

A slightly unhealthy air quality level was recorded in Galle and Ratnapura.

It is forecast that the air quality index (AQI) will range between 64 and 108 throughout the day, indicating a moderate level in most cities.

The highest air pollution levels are expected between 7:30 – 8:30 AM and 1:00 – 2:00 PM.

Comparatively, the air quality over the next 24 hours is expected to remain at a moderate level in most cities across the country.
