Colombo, June 3 (Daily Mirror) - SriLankan Airlines' newly added Airbus A330-200 will perform a low-altitude flyover from Colombo Port City to Pandura tomorrow (04), between 8:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., allowing the public to enjoy a clear view of the aircraft.

According to SriLankan Airlines, the aircraft will then return to Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake.

The airline invites general public to witness this special event.

I wished somebody burn these planes coz we're losing gigantic amount of money. We can't attract a buyer for the airline. No SriLankan capable running the airline. Government is injecting good money in the amount of Rs.20 billion to off The part of the Debt. So we're between Rock and a hard place!!

This appears to be entirely unnecessary and seems more like a display than a practical operation. SriLankan Airlines is in no position to waste even a single drop of fuel on such pointless tasks. It’s unclear who authorized this highly unnecessary activity, but the decision warrants serious reconsideration.

We didn’t expect such a display from the present government, especially considering that SriLankan Airlines is still a loss-making entity. Rather than organizing low-flying showcases, the focus should be on financial recovery. Perhaps it's time to consider bringing in experienced management, like Emirates once did, or even privatization. However, on a positive note, let’s wait and see how this struggling airline performs under the current administration — hopefully, we’ll see real improvements soon.

Saw the new plane at 9.32 over wellawatte marine drive and then around 9.40 going towards Port city. not sure if it was late on her maiden journey. Anyway felt proud as a Sri Lankan. With all our problems we should never lose hope about our mother Lanka. This aircraft came directly from CDG to CMB. a low fly glide at low speed is not going to burn tons of fuel . As for taking poor kids by lottery system, if they are taken to any other country- they will go missing and the plane will anyway come empty.
