Colombo, Nov. 20 (Daily Mirror) - An A380, one of the world’s largest passenger aircraft, made an emergency landing at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this evening after a passenger suddenly fell ill, an airport duty officer confirmed.
Emirates flight EK-434, en route from Dubai to Brisbane, Australia, was diverted to BIA at around 7.15 p.m. on November 20 after the onboard medical emergency was reported while the aircraft was in Sri Lankan airspace.
Airport authorities promptly activated emergency protocols, and the passenger was evacuated and transferred for urgent medical treatment.
Following the medical intervention, the flight is expected to resume its journey to Brisbane, departing from Katunayake once the necessary clearance is granted.
