Colombo, October 5 (Daily Mirror) - A total of 84 people from 49 families have been affected by the prevailing inclement weather in the Central, North Central, Northern, Southern, and North Western Provinces, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) reported.
Issuing its latest situation report this morning, the DMC said four individuals were injured in the Jaffna and Kurunegala districts due to strong winds, while 49 houses sustained partial damage.
According to the report, 48 people were affected in the Nuwara Eliya District due to heavy rain and lightning, 17 in Anuradhapura from rain and high winds, 14 in Jaffna due to strong winds, five in Galle following a tree fall incident, and 25 in Kurunegala due to gusty winds.
No deaths or evacuations have been reported so far, the DMC confirmed.
