80kg of Kerala Cannabis seized in joint operation in Jaffna

Colombo, July 20 (Daily Mirror) - Acting on a tip-off from the Jaffna Army Intelligence Unit, a joint operation with the Nelliady Police Special Task Force led to the seizure of approximately 80 kilograms of Kerala cannabis, the Army said. 

The raid was conducted at Nagar Kovil (East) beach, where the cannabis—divided into 40 parcels—was found after being illegally smuggled into the country.

The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is around Rs. 1.6 million.

The Maradankeni Police Station is conducting further investigations into the incident.
