450 prison officers transferred

Some 450 prisons officers will be transferred with effect from January 1, 2014, Prisons Commissioner General Chadraratna Pallegama said

Those to be transferred are officers who have served in the same prison for more than five years. Some officers are to be promoted from prison guards to jailers, he said. (Sanath Desmond)
