38 COVID deaths yesterday, death toll soars to 1,089
Another 38 COVID deaths were reported yesterday, mounting the death toll to 1,089, the Information Department said.
This is the highest daily death toll from COVID infection in the country has recorded so far. While confirming this, the Health Service Director General said this is the highest single day death toll between May 7 and May 20.
Among the dead were 19 females and 19 males.
