37 Indian fishermen nabbed in Trinco

The Navy has arrested at least 37 Indian fishermen with five trawlers off Pulmodai, Trincomalee this morning while they were fishing in Sri Lankan waters, Navy Spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya said.

They are being detained by the Trincomalee Navy camp and would be handed over to the Trincomalee harbour police today, he said.(Amadoru Amarajeewa)

Conficate the catch, fine the the fisherman and only release the boats and fisherman when the fine is paid. Fines should be considerbale as they do in Australia, $70,000-$90000.a time.

Release them but confiscate the boats then there is no economy of catching fish in troubled water. Release the boats after next UN Human Right only if they (Indians) vote in favour of us.
