33 ASPs promoted as SPs

Thirty-three Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)s have been promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) by IGP C.D. Wickremeratne with immediate effect.

Police said the promotions were approved by the Public Security Ministry Secretary and the Elections Commission based on the service requirements.

The promoted SPs were;

1. H.A. Damayantha - CCTV

2. W. A. Ratnayake Bandara - Special Investigation Unit

3. H.K. Amarasinghe - State Intelligence Service

4. S.P.K. Gallage - Monaragala Division

5. R.A.K. Premaratne - Illegal Assets Investigation Division

6. M.W.G. Chandana- Western Province (South) Crime Division

7. J.S.T. Jayawardena -Discipline & Conduct Division

8. P. S. Amaratunga - Negombo Division

9. P.Y. De Silva - Apprentice Recruitment Division

10. M.S. De Silva - Prime Minister's Security Division

11. I.C.U.I. Kandewatta - Kandy Division

12. H.D.R. Hettiarachi - Colombo Crime Division

13. B.A.R. Pushpakumara - Nugegoda Division

14. H.M.C.P. Herath - Puttalam Division

15. B.R.D.D.B.S. Basnayake - Prime Minister's Security Division

16. C.R.C. De Sylvie - Elpitiya Division

17. K.W.G.Thusharasena - Police Headquarters

18. C. V. Sirimanna - Ministerial Security Division
