At least 23 people were injured when a bus skidded off the road and crashed into a telephone post at Amunumulla junction on the Welimada – Haputale road this morning, the police said.

The victims were on their way to a wedding ceremony in Haputale when the accident occurred.

The Injured were admitted to the Welimada hospital and nine of them were transferred to the Badulla hospital, hospital sources said. (News and Pix by R.Kogulan)

The new tactic is for the transport minister Welgama to give Rs. 10,000 for all injured out of his so called "own money" and show the fools in this country that he cares.

Pls. check this driver's are under Alcohol or drugs.. Some of drivers are taking drugs.. Do the authority have any instrument to measure that... Some times this fellow was ok.. Another crazy 3wheel or bus has created this situation and do escaped... via DM Android App

wonder how some UN road worthy vehicles that carry passengers pas the TESTS..

Most of em are not fit to ply on the roads. These are death traps waiting ...sadly none cares... Mobile phone use again?

We don't need to go far to see these miscreants at work. All the media has to do is stand near the end of green path at the public library end, and record the buses taking the corner from the museum towards Colpetty.
