Video: 3 Lankan women nabbed with Rs.8.3 Mn in foreign currency



Three Sri Lankan women alleged to have had in their possession Rs.8.3 million worth of foreign currency were arrested at the airport arrival lounge last night, Customs spokesman Leslie Gamini said.

Two of them were mother and daughter, the mother, 57-years-old and her daughter 39 while the other was a 64. They are residents of Grandpass in Colombo.

Mr. Gamini said preliminary investigations revealed that the foreign currency was concealed inside their jackets and brought from Chennai. The foreign currency comprised US$80,800, Saudi Riyals1405, GBP345 and 1,200 Euros. They were confiscated. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
