28-year-old man shot dead in Alawwa

Colombo, Jan. 18 (Daily Mirror) - A 28-year-old man was shot dead in Alawwa last night, police said.

They said investigations launched after receiving information that a man had collapsed beside a motorcycle along the Wilgamuwa–Morawalapitiya road in the Godakuruw area. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A magisterial inquest and examination by a judicial medical officer today confirmed that the cause of death was gunshot injuries. The deceased has been identified as a resident of the Matigane area in the Narammala police division.
