25 police officers transferred

Colombo, Nov. 21 (Daily Mirror) - The National Police Commission (NPC) has approved the immediate transfer of 25 police officers holding the rank of Inspector, including several Officers-in-Charge (OICs) of police stations and divisions.

The Sri Lanka Police Media Division said the transfers, ordered by Inspector General of Police (IGP), take effect from today, November 21.

Among those transferred is Ravi Padmakumara, the former OIC of Norochcholai Police Station, who has been accused of having links with drug traffickers. Padmakumara has been moved to the Gampaha Division, with his transfer effective from November 19.

The police stated that these transfers are part of routine administrative measures.
