At this crucial situation when SL is in crisis, no need to worry about any constitution amendments which is immaterial, Wijedasa Rajapakshe don't try to be a hero as we know that you are zero and now hanging around with Ranil and protecting Rajapakshes.

22A is not a food to eat neither it is not going to help the poor masses anyway. Stop wasting time and energy on un-wanted issues.

Any new constitution should include a clause that a referendum is mandatory to pass any amendment. This will prevent the current abuse of the process where amendments are passed by the corrupt politician to suit the interests of the corrupt politicians.

22A is totally un-wanted. Wijedasa, get lost with your dam idea, this will only benefit looters like you and your Rajapakshes, all bull shit. 19A is the best.

WR - your dirty games will never work again, mind it. Your 22A only supports Rajapakshe family coming back to the scene again which we will never leave.

Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa,
Although not from Medamulana, but from the allappu Gama!! We are somewhat circumspect of the connections and machinations!!
What’s this 22nd Amendment??
Is it the ‘Hotch Potch’ you presented in May 2022, not repealing the 20th Amendment to ensure the Independent commissions are working as per 19th Amendment as envisaged in 2015, but your words “CLOSE TO IT” to suit R bros., Inc., to proceed on their wild spree??? Get real??
“CLOSE TO IT”, is like Medamulana being close to Weeraketiya but not rally Medamula as you claimed some time ago??!! Hope you got it now??!! Please chose between Medamulana or Weeraketiya?? One or the other?
What is needed is ‘ONLY REPELING 20TH A AND AN “ENABLING ACT” TO COMMIT 19TH A BACK INTO FORCE’

Sri Lanka needs to be governed by completely a new set of people.
Amending the constitution will not change the system.

You mean be governed by another set of thieves ?
Problem is who can be nominated for elections by the political parties. When the party central committees control nominations they will nominate the same crooks and what choices do the voters get? . This is why changes are needed to election laws such as limiting the terms any MP can serve in the parliment to two like presidents terms.

Following up on Cholmondeley P's ‘point of view’, a process to properly 'vetting' process, the nominee to ensure historically, there has been no corrupt practice and constitutional provision, 'RIGHT TO RECALL' process anytime during his tenure, REPLACEMENT only by an election (Not NOMINATED BY PARTY)!!
Also making payment or inducement at election time ( defined as period – Date of proclamation to declaring election results) an "ELECTION CRIMINAL OFFENCE", punishable with 2 years RI (minimum) and disabling "CIVIC RIGHTS" for 7 years??!!

Good firs step. Next we need to see the executive presidency abolished in full through an new constitution, and an overhaul of the electoral system to remove proportional representation and revert to the first past the post system. That way the electorate has more say in whom they actually send to represent them in parliament. It will also lower the cost of campaigning, providing opportunity for better candidates with lower budget to enter and be successful in engaging in politics.

Hope you have drafted the amendments to suit the Rajapakshes and your good friend Senathipathy. Don’t you think it is like the expression “don’t bolt the staples after the horses have run”
