16-year-old goes missing while bathing in Thalpe sea
A student was reported missing and five others were rescued after they were carried away by a wave while bathing along the Thalpe beach at Habaraduwa this afternoon, Police said.
Initial investigations have revealed that a group of 42 students of a tuition class in Kurunegala had met with the tragedy while they were on an excursion in Habaraduwa.
The missing student is identified as a 16-year-old from Pothuhera.
Police and navy lifeguards are searching for the missing student.
