A police complaint was lodged at the Mount Lavinia police division over a disappearance of a 16-year-old boy yesterday, police said.
They said the boy Aldon Devon Kenny, was an Ordinary Level (O/L) student at St. Peter's College Bambalapitiya. The boy had reportedly left his home last morning.
The mother of the boy said that as far as they knew, there were no problems with him.
She said her son had left home around 6.20 am. He was wearing a black hoodie, black trousers, backpack and a pair slippers at the time he was last seen.
The mother said her son refused to go to school on that day morning but left home without informing anyone.
"My son was in his room with his elder brother. Last morning he told me that he will not be going to school, but did not mention anything about leaving the residence. He generally gets into the bus at the Golumadama Junction," the mother said.
The family members requested the public to inform the nearest police station if they get any information about his disappeared son.
