14th Laksala showroom opened in Negombo

Colombo, Feb. 12 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Handicrafts Board (Laksala) yesterday (11) inaugurated its 14th showroom in the tourist hub of Negombo, with Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Sunil Handunneththi officiating at the opening.

In a statement, Minister Handunneththi said the new showroom was established to ensure fair value for the skill and creativity of Sri Lanka’s traditional artisans.

He noted that setting up a Laksala outlet in a key tourist destination such as Negombo is a strategic move aimed at eliminating middlemen and enabling rural artisans to connect directly with the international market.
