14 passengers in one trishaw : driver arrested

Colombo, April 9 (Daily Mirror) - A trishaw driver was arrested by Koslanda Police yesterday for transporting 14 passengers, including schoolchildren and adults, in violation of the vehicle’s permitted seating capacity.

The trishaw was transporting the group of passengers from Koslanda to Theldeniya when the police checked the trishaw

Police said the students on board were of Grade eight, nine and ten and several of them were female students. They were on their way home after school.

The driver was released on police bail pending legal action against him.
