At least 43 persons including three monks were hospitalized after they were attacked by wasps this morning at the Kotagala Pirivena, Dambulla. The Police said that the wasps attacked the people due to noise created by a group of devotees who visited the area.

A 55-year-old Sri Lankan national died in Chennai airport after he suffered a heart attack, airport sources said. Lal Chand, who was holding a waitlisted ticket for Colombo, fainted in the restroom yesterday. He was rushed to a nearby government hospital.
