Fuel prices slashed

A litre of petrol (92) would be reduced by Rs. 60 and petrol (95) by Rs. 135 from midnight today, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara said today.

He said a litre of auto diesel would be reduced by Rs. 80 and super diesel by Rs. 45.

A litre of Kerosene would be reduced by Rs. 10.

The new prices:

Lanka Petrol 92 Octane - Rs. 340
Lanka Petrol 95 Octane - Rs. 375
Lanka Auto Diesel - Rs. 325
Lanka Super Diesel - Rs. 465

Meanwhile, Lanka IOC has also decided to reduce the fuel prices in line with the fuel price reduction of the CEYPETCO. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrame)

    Still this is very much high compared to a couple of years back ...all this must reflect on food item and other grocery item as well ...will all other prices will go down as well...

    This has to reflect on the food items including the eating places .... They are still robbing us in day light claiming prices are high!!! Walk into any supermarket and or restaurant u will understand

    reduction will be deemed if it goes below 175, here in this case, that "highest priced remained" caming down can not be considered reduction of fuel prices, this seems an eye-wash.
