South Australian Governor Frances Adamson discussed opportunities for cooperation with Sri Lanka during her recent visit to Colombo, the Governor's office said.
The Governor met Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya and discussed opportunities for deeper cooperation between South Australia and Sri Lanka.
She also met Paul Stephens, Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, who accompanied her throughout the Colombo program.
At the Independence Arcade, the Governor visited local business Electric Tuc Tuc Coffee Stop, whose coffee beans are supported through an Australian aid program.
Later, the Governor met Dr Harsha Alles, Chairman of the Gateway Group, staff and students at Gateway College.
As Patron of StudyAdelaide, the Governor attended a luncheon hosted by StudyAdelaide with international education stakeholders to celebrate enduring education ties between South Australia and Sri Lanka.
She also received a briefing on the Port City Colombo development from Harsha Amarasekera, Chairman, and Revan Wickramasuriya, Director General of the Colombo Port City Economic Commission.
At Australia House, the Governor participated in two roundtables, the first with South Australian businesses working in Sri Lanka, and the second focused on foreign policy and regional cooperation.
