With “Gen Z” entering the world of technology, Hilton Colombo Kids Club, together with the Gateway School of Computing organized a Mega Robotics Championship to celebrate International Children’s Day. The event which was on the 6th of October at the hotel’s Grand Marquee, gave school children from around the country an opportunity to use their tech-savvy minds and creativity to build their own robots from scratch. With the main focus of the event being the robotics championship, the day’s program also included a fun STEAM Day programme. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics). Activities included arts and crafts, dance, drama, story-telling and etiquette. These interactive sessions helped the children learn something new while having fun.
The Hilton Colombo’s Kids Club gave away 2 championship trophies for the ‘Most Innovative Robot Design’ from both the senior and junior categories.
Continuing with the Hilton Team Member Appreciation Week, 15 of Hilton Colombo’s very own Team Member’s kids were also given the opportunity to participate in this event.
