The Ambassadors Forum, which is a collective forum of retired and serving high level diplomats, policymakers, academics and professionals worldwide, launched the third volume of its book titled ‘Foreign Policy Perspectives’
Former Ambassador Sarath Wijesinghe who pioneered the project said the forum was established with the view of assisting the creation of an effective and consistent Sri Lankan foreign policy through policy inputs and engagements with Sri Lankan policy makers.
“In the short period of time since its inception, the Ambassadors Forum has grown to become a body of experts from multidisciplinary fields worldwide with its contributions to the political and policy discourse of the nation being well received by key actors at all levels maintaining impartiality independence and international standards,” he said in an address to the audience .
He said the previous Editions titled “Foreign Policy Perspectives for Sri Lanka in 2020” and “Foreign Policy Perspectives After COVID-19” were well received by the readership. Contributions to the books have been made by foreign policy experts, diplomats and academics who have significant authority in their relevant subject fields. The Ambassadors Forum is convinced that such contributions would be reflected in Sri Lanka’s national and foreign policy guidance in time to come. The publication also acts as a medium to make available the works of such respected authors to all Sri Lankans including politicians, policymakers, practitioners and students alike. No such volume is in publication since independence.
