German lady raped in hotel

A German lady staying at a hotel in Beruwala had been raped by an unidentified individual. The 79-year-old tourist stated to police that she was suffering from Arthritis and that she was in her room when an individual entered the room by force and raped her.   

She was admitted to Kalutara General Hospital in Nagoda for treatment. SP Kalutara Division Kapila Premadasa said he initiated a formal investigation to arrest the suspect.   

OIC Beruwala Police Lalith Padmakumara is conducting further investigations on the instructions of SP Kapila Premadasa and DIG Vijitha Gunaratne.
