Two Sri Lankans were arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, Nigeria when they were found to carrying forged Malaysian passports.
The International media reported that officials of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission in Nigeria had arrested the suspects on Sunday.
According to reports, it was the second occasion in 2020 that Sri Lankans were arrested for a similar offence at the airport.
It said the two suspects with the Malaysian passports were holding one-way tickets to London Heathrow.
They are believed to have connived with some officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service at the airport to travel out of the country with invalid documents.
A source said one of the immigration officers who was also arrested was named Babatunde Ahmed. The suspects are being detained by the ICPC and being interrogated.
