Army Commander Shavendra Silva said today that the spread of coronavirus in highly populated Colombo city has been successfully controlled.
In an interview with a private TV channel, he said the spread of the virus was mitigated with a minimum impact to the economy and the people.
“We haven't failed. We have controlled the spread of the virus even in highly populated Colombo city. Peliyagoda fish market is a centre where fish is distributed to the whole country. That is the centre of the disease and it broke out to the whole country. We have been able to completely control the Minuwangoda cluster. 3106 patients were reported there. As I told, we have not failed at all. We will never fail. We have a good leadership and a government in the country. Those who have retired and are presently abroad also support us in this endeavour. We will succeed in this joint effort,” he said.

Yes Sir, Please send a Good Epidemiology Doctor to Germany to study how effectively PCR tests are done here. I am a Retired Sri Lankan living here. I am certain the Sri Lankan Embassy in Berlin would support such a move. Wish you all the best in your endeavour.
