The National Child Protection Authority is to record statements from individuals who had made mentions about the child abuse video which went viral on social media, sources close to the Authority said.

They said statements were recorded from actress Piumi Hansamali and another statement is to be recorded on a future date.

A separate investigation is underway over the Gem businessman who had allegedly been connected with the voice record.

A special investigation would be carried out over Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake. Separate investigations were carried out by the CID, the sources further added.

Police should be happy that citizens are providing all information to help Law and Order in the country. If you give publicity to the whistle blowers, their lives will be in danger. Why do you expose the informers?
