Legendary West Indies batsman and T20 cricket superstar, Chris Gayle, has finally made his presence felt in the action-packed T10 League by scoring the fastest half-century on Wednesday.

The self-proclaimed Universe Boss took the Maratha Arabians' bowling attack to the cleaners in match No.20 of the T10 League 2021 at the famous Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Representing Team Abu Dhabi in the fourth edition of the cash-rich tournament, Gayle entered his name in the history books by playing a memorable knock in the unique 10-over tournament hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The veteran Windies batsman guided Team Abu Dhabi to a memorable win over Maratha Arabians as the Luke Wright-led side chased down a competitive target of 98 in just 5.3 overs.

Speaking after the match, the former Windies skipper hailed legendary Sri Lankan cricketer Kumar Sangakkara for giving him a pep talk before the star batsman tormented the Maratha Arabians' bowlers in a one-sided affair at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

"We never stop learning. Sanga, you're the man, you're a legend," Gayle lauded the former Sri Lankan skipper in his special message. (Timesnow News)

Cricket has gone to dogs. Abu Dhabi, What cricketing culture it has ? Zero. It is allowed to create an artificial cricket team consisting of all foreign players using its oil wealth.

    Jude Friday, 05 February 2021 10:19 AM

Hey Ruwan, the game has to grow without boundaries!! What's wrong with bunch of professional cricketers making some hefty bucks in the oil rich kingdom !! If you were professional cricketer would you say no to MONEY!!??? Huh!!

    FF Friday, 05 February 2021 10:21 AM

    Jude Friday, 05 February 2021 11:11 AM

Well, Gayle stating the obvious!! I remember what Sanga asked from Thisara Perera when he walk-in to bat at the 2014 WC T20 final, Sanga asked Thisara just REDUCE the pressure for him !! Simply genious!! Rest is history!!

Supun Fernando Friday, 05 February 2021 12:29 PM

I hope our masses and youngsters learn from the ethics of Sanga.. by listing to his speeches for the betterment of the nation, unlike the deceitful politicians.

    Ranaweera Friday, 05 February 2021 03:17 PM

If we need to build Sri Lanka cricket, we need the Cricket Board to be free from elected officers. It should be run only by retired leading cricketers. Namal can you make that change happen and then you can claim that you did some thing. All regional cricket clubs should be abolished and should be taken into Sports ministry. The administrators should be former cricketers.

    Silva Friday, 05 February 2021 03:27 PM

Jude, you are a brainless fellow, missing the point. When a county has a sports team in which not even a single person from the country is in the team, you say it doesn’t matter as long as all the foreign players make the money. This is the point, cricket has gone to dogs, it is all about making money.

Antony Jude Friday, 05 February 2021 03:43 PM

Yes. Sanga is legend. He is the right person to govern Srilanka.

    ABS Sunday, 07 February 2021 09:07 PM

Takeaway the FACE CREAM, player's need to perform, it's NOT stage drama.

    MUNAS Thursday, 11 February 2021 07:24 PM

YES --SANGA BRINGS CREDIT TO SRI-LANKA BUT OUR POLITICIANS BRING DISGRACE TO SRI-LANKA
