The Police have introduced a special sticker system for the vehicles entering Colombo City to avoid repeated checking of vehicles from today.
DIG Ajith Rohana said the programme would be implemented at the entry points of Colombo city specially in Peliyagoda, Mount Lavinia Nugegoda, Wattala and Wellampitiya.
“ The sticker is valid for 24 hours. The vehicles are checked by the police officers and and the sticker is pasted on the vehicle. This will avoid the repeated checking of the vehicles,” he said.
The DIG said the system was introduced after considering the complaints received by the employees of essential services that they are getting delayed for longer period due to the repeated checking.
