The wind power complex in Mannar is a project which was initiated by the previous government, Samagi Jana Balawegaya ( SJB) said yesterday.
“The Project commenced on March 2016 with the assistance the Asian Development Bank to the tune of US dollars 175 million, “SJB MP Mujibur Rahman said at a press conference.
He said that the work on the project was delayed by few months due to the political crisis that took place in October 2018. “The present government had every right to open the project.the last government also opened projects which was started by the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime prior to 2015.The issue here is that the government does not want to mention the truth“he said.
He said that 300MW power will be added to the national grid from the Mannar wind power station. (YOHAN PERERA)
