Mahanayake Theras urge Prez, PM to resolve Rathana Thera’s demands

Mahanayaka Theras of the Malwatte and Asgiriya chapters have urged the President and the Prime Minister to resolve the demands of Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thera, who is engaged in a fast unto death strike opposite Sri Dalada Maligawa.

In a letter signed by Mahanayake of the Malwatte Chapter Most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera and Mahanayake of the Asgiriya Chapter Most Ven. Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathane Thera, the they had requested the President and the Prime Minister to resolve the demands of Ven. Rathana Thera before his health condition deteriorates further.

The Mahanayake Theras had also urged that the investigations into the extremism should be conducted transparently and rapidly and implement laws against the extremists immediately.
