Isolation status in several police areas in WP to be lifted tomorrow

The isolation status in Pettah, Foreshore and Mattakkuliya police areas in Colombo District and Negombo and Ragama police areas in Gampaha District will be lifted at 5 a.m. tomorrow, Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said.

He said isolation status will continue in Modara, Bloemendhal, Kotahena, Grandpass, Dam Street, Aduruppu Street, Maligawatte, Dematagoda, Keselwatta police areas and Wekanda and Wanatamulla Grama Nildari Divisions.

The Army Commander said Randiya Uyana Housing Scheme and South of Ferguson Road in Mattakkuliya police area and Laksanda Sevana Housing Scheme, Salamul Grama Niladari Division and Wijayapura Grama Niladari Division in Wellampitiya police area will be declared as new isolated areas from 5 a.m. tomorrow.

He said isolation status will continue in Kelaniya, Wattala and Peliyagoda police areas in Gampaha District.

The army commander should take a look at Wattala himself. People will die of malnutricion and lack of medicins, not of Covid19. The virus is not an enemy you can destroy with army tactics. He does not have a clue.

The situation in Colombo visible as CMC Doctors and PHIs are doing a great job. Rhey are taking more than 1500 tests a day. But other MCs are not testing, so though there is an islandwide spread of Miniwangoda Peliyagoda cluster, that is prevented from manifesting. This is the tip of of the iceberg.
